YOGA OFFERINGS

Tracy Heyland, owner and certified yoga teacher, brings a background of over 20 years of active yoga practice and lifelong work in the medicine, teaching and healing communities of animal health, with core values of making a difference, compassionate care, leadership, and wellness of the mind, body and spirit. Leading and coaching teams, designing and delivering workshops,
healing from previous injuries, and creating safe space from a heart-centered perspective informs her yoga teaching today.

Her teaching strengths include offerings of Hatha coupled with a gentle flow, Yin classes and workplace Chair Yoga, all meeting the student where they are at and offering modifications to prevent injury and ensure a supported and healing experience. Tracy invites intentional flow to open the body and connect with self, while creating a safe, inclusive, and inviting space for students. Her approach to yoga is one of uniting the body with the breath, and the mind with the heart.

Yoga is a path of lifelong learning; a platform for self-transformation. The cultivation and practice of self-awareness and self-management are skills that serve individuals both on and off the mat. Tracy strives to create this space of transformation and embodiment so that her students can meet the challenges of everyday life and show up more authentically for themselves, their families and at their workplace. It is by deeply connecting with our inner core and learning how to manage our energy and sense of self, that we can best serve ourself and those around us.

Tracy offers online yoga classes, workplace and conference yoga sessions, and cacao ceremonies.

Yoga Classes Offered

A variety of yoga classes are offered, for both online and in-person participation. Yoga sessions are inclusive and customized to meet the needs of individuals, so everybody can participate in a way that is safe and effective for them.

Hatha/Yin or Yang/Yin – A dynamic flow of Hatha poses targeting muscles and blood flow, building strength, flexibility, stamina and tone, with a transition to slow, mindful Yin poses that target deeper connective tissues to improve flexibility and joint mobility, and reduce stress and anxiety. Evening classes will start with a Hatha flow and end with Yin to prepare you for a deep and restful sleep, whereas a morning class will start with Yin poses and move into a Hatha flow to get you awake and ready to move into your day with energy and focus.

Yin – An entire class dedicated to poses that are passively held for longer period of times, coupled with the breath. This practice invites a deep connection with self that calms and balances the mind and body, working deeply on the connective tissues. It can be an excellent bridge into meditation, rest or sleep.

Chair Yoga – Chair Yoga is a gentle practice where postures are performed while seated and/or with the aid of a chair to improve strength, decrease stress, manage and reduce pain, and invite intentional movement and counterbalancing into muscles that are prone to overuse due to our work/life demands. It is ideal for anyone needing a physical movement break while at work and
people with mobility restrictions. Breathing techniques are taught to help promote focus, mental clarity, and relaxation, and reduce stress and anxiety.

Cacao Ceremony – Cacao has been used for centuries, opening the heart and boosting moods. Coming together to drink cacao in ceremony can create healing, connection, and inspiration in a safe, nourishing environment where you connect with yourself, the spirit of cacao, and other people in a deep and meaningful way. The group will be led through a guided process of setting intentions, sharing experiences, and sitting in a meditation. Being in the sacred space of a cacao ceremony allows new insights and perspectives to flow in, enhances intuition and empathy, and provides a space to experience a more open and present heart. It is a profound way to mark transitions, access creativity, let go of what no longer serves, and welcome in new beginnings. Contact Tracy to inquire and book a ceremony.
